Easy Upgrades for Your NFL Sunday Viewing
Sunday’s can’t get much better with your favorite team playing on the big screen.
That’s what I thought too until I paid a visit to my buddies garage a couple of States over where he had maybe the very best NFL Sunday setup I’ve ever seen.
Heading through the door from his hallway and into the garage was like stepping into an entirely different football-themed realm. The room is no longer purposed to hide his cars from poor weather conditions, but rather to house a giant TV, incredible sound system, comfy leather couches and NFL memorabilia scattered on every wall.
The following week I sat down to watch the game in my front room, but it felt like something was missing. The picture on the TV wasn’t quite as crisp, the sound didn’t transport me to the event and was a distinct lack of cold beverages at an arms reach.
Something had to be done to upgrade my NFL Sunday viewing. But rather than convert my non-existent garage, I’d stick to my current front room set up with a couple of extra gizmos and gadgets. This is what I came up with.
1. TV Upgrade – Samsung 82-Inch QLED 4K TV
First thing’s first, to get a better look at the incredible detail that the NFL broadcasts these days, it was time for a TV upgrade.
I wanted something that wasn’t just going to become outdated again in the next couple of years, so handing over a decent chunk of change, I decided on one of the very best widescreen money can buy. You guessed it, the Samsung QN82Q60RAFXZA Flat 82-Inch QLED 4K Q60 Series Ultra HD Smart TV.
The picture quality is out of this world, making Sunday football incredibly crisp and clear. Remember when everyone changed from AV to HD? That’s the only thing I can compare it to, the difference really is night and day.
The tech also features HDR and Alexa Compatibility, and although it may be the 2019 Model, it has more than enough bark to last through to the next decade where VR ultimately makes us all prisoners.
I couldn’t recommend more, but it’s not money well spent unless you do something about the sound…
2. Sound Upgrade – Sony Soundbar and Subwoofer
My buddies set-up was incredible when walking through the door with the eyes given a sensory overload, but it wasn’t until he cranked up the sound that the rest of my body really felt the game.
The sound thrown out of his Sony HT-S350 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer was something hard to both describe and comprehend, immediately transporting us to the field with the players that we know and love. It’s that sort of intense volume that you can feel all the way down to your core. I first came across this soundbar via this great article on The Coolest 25 Tech Gifts Money Can Buy.
Naturally, within the first 20 seconds of the vibrations coursing through my body, I was straight on the web checking out how I could get my hands on the brilliant dynamic changer.
Well worth the money and, with a great 4K TV to pair with, delivers an unrivaled game experience.
3. For the hands – Wilson Official NFL Football
While looking for a suitable and probably too large TV for the sized wall to hang it on, curiosity got the better of me and before too long I was browsing Amazon for NFL goodies to fill my room with.
The first thing that went straight into my online cart was the Wilson “The Duke” Official NFL Game Football. Originally this was just going to be a bit of a dynamic centerpiece to rest on my coffee table, but it quickly became my lucky charm during the first game.
I’ve always found it beneficial to keep hold of something whilst watching something nerve wracking and it doesn’t get much better than holding and playing with the exact thing that’s causing you that stress.
Don’t knock it before you try it! You won’t find my catching a game without “The Duke” held between my palms in a white-knuckled grip.
4. For the feet – Comfy Feet NFL Slippers
The next impulse purchase that has drastically improved my NFL Sunday viewing is an incredible soft pair of officially licensed NFL sneaker slippers from Comfy Feet.
Laugh if you will, but I’m not the one that’s going to be having cold, uncomfortable feet come game day. Naturally, I got a pair with branding from my favorite team plastered all over them.
They look great, they’re super comfortable and they’re a great addition to my life outside of Sunday’s too. Need to nip to the shops for a couple of beers and some chips, slip on the Comfy Feet and away we go.
They are, and I don’t say this lightly, life-changing.
5. For cool beverages – 120 can beverage refrigerator
No Sunday is complete with at least one or two beers (or sodas if you’re not a drinker) and there’s no better way to keep them close with a beverage refrigerator.
To make sure that I’m not missing a single second of the game, I’ve got the hOmeLabs Beverage Refrigerator and Cooler with space for a huge 120 cans. I agree that 120 cans might be a little bit on the excessive side of things, but you’re always better looking at them than for them, know what I mean?
Besides, when I’ve got a small party of my buddies watching the game together, you’d be surprised just how often that glass door opens. There’s also the option to add wine into the cooler thanks to the adjustable removable shelves – if you’re into that sort of thing anyway…
The takeaway
That’s it, that’s everything noteworthy that makes up my easy upgrade list for my NFL Sunday viewing.
Hopefully, like me, you’ve been inspired to cop some of the latest tech or even just a pair of comfy slippers to improve your Sunday’s each and every week.
Looking forward to hearing about your upgrades and experiencing the incredible sounds from that soundbar and subwoofer!
